Neglect

It's been ages since ive looked at my own website - nevermind posted on it. It's probably down to the fact that i've been too busy do things, and i've neglected them (amongst other things).

There are obviously people who come to the website - for some reason or another. We'll just to fill you in with what i'm up to these days - www.malikbond.com is where you need to look. I've been flat out with work for the last 7 months and we're launching a new part of the business tomorrow.

As for this website, maybe i'll get more time to devote to it, maybe I won't, and if that's the case - it'll be bye bye website.

Another reason to buy Vista from Apple?

You may be asking what the title is about, Apple have released a beta (pre release) version of Safari (the Mac browser) for windows. I've been using it for nearly 2 weeks its really grown on me. So much so it makes the competition (Internet Explorer and Firefox) seem bloated. The thing i like the most is the text rendering, the text is much smoother and easier to read.

Does it make me want to buy a Mac - hell yes....

note: the software is pre release so expect it to be a bit buggy.

Wifi Scare

Did you see the Panorama program that showed the dangers of Wifi? Here's a few links with some thoughts about it.

Panorama is bad science
Wifi Radiation scare - the verdict

I haven't totally made my mind up about the documentary, and I havent turned off my wifi either (i probably wont either unless we get some real evidence that my brain is going to wiped or alike). All in all it sounds like another case of over eager journalism (I hope).

Reading, Riding, and Writing.

It's been a busy few weeks, we've just launched the new Safety Workwear website for Bond Safety.

To add to that i've started working on my own blogging system. It's to facilitate all the different personal sites I have, so that they can be managed on a single site by multiple users. The first site i've updated to use this is www.bmwfuture.net, its basically a blog on new BMW models and related pics and movies. It's hard to get all that info on one page, so i've done it.

Recently i've been busy reading some books on riding. I've always wanted to get on a bike, and get my license. I've completed the DSA guide to riding and on to the theory test book, which has about 20 pages left to complete. Hopefully i'll have my theory test completed this month, and my actual motorcycle test next month (DC i'll get it yet).

North West 200

What a great day, weather was far better than expected. Only thing I can complain about was the blisters. Seen 2 pretty spectacular crashes, only 1 caught on camera. Catch the photos here.

Rocket Dog

I've been away from my undevoted blog for many weeks (nearly 4 months!!!), the longest period away from here! Holidays, families, a wedding and a few new contracts have led to me not giving any time to lifes finer things.

If you are wondering what i've been at check out www.rocketdog.co.uk . We've got 2 other exciting projects coming out in the next few months. Keep your ears peeled.

The spy who loved me

The world is getting more and more technology savvy (due mostly to mobile phones & the internet), and people are becoming more and more aware of what they can do with technology .

The worrying thing is that with the internet - and World Tracker GSM's Service anyone can be James Bond with technology that wouldnt go amiss in Qs closet. The service allows any mobile phone to be tracked and the location displayed through the use of Google Maps. There is thankfully a verfication you have to do on the phone you want to track, in the form of replying to a text message. This means that you cannot just enter anyones phone number and track it through the internet, a text message has to be sent to the phone and a reply confirmation sent.

The service tracks individual mobile phones down between 500 - 50 m, which could benefit parents, bosses, and psycho ex partners.

More after the jump

2006 a major year

2006 a major year

Anyone who can tell me what happened to 2005 please let me know by email. 2006 has started, and by the looks of things we have a major year of technology and innovation – not seen since the introduction of the PC.

To name but a few events to happen this year

  • Apple move to Intel CPUs, and launch a highly successful PC for the home, as good as the iPod for your living room.

  • Microsoft to launch Windows Vista, the successor to Windows XP

  • HDTV and 3G become mainstream

  • Dual core PC and Laptop chips become the norm

  • Internet Booms like a fighter jet on steroids.

  • Google launches another spree of products including a service such as Hitwises. Google will actually know who goes to your sites.

  • Sony PS3 launches towards 2nd half of 2006, not March as though by many.

  • Device convergence will progress more rapidly.

  • Online music and video on Demand services will become mainstream.

  • XBOX 360 entertains the world – if you haven’t got one yet – I suggest you go out and get one wherever u can (the premium is well worth the asking price of £280, and the graphics are AMAZING). You’ll understand why people are paying £500 for them on eBay.

  • BlueRay and HD DVD arrive, however they won’t be mainstream until 2007 or when the ps3 arrives).

So what this all means is that I’ll be changing my centrino for an duo core, a VMC instead of my XP, getting a HDTV with IDTV, HDMI, 720, 1080 to marry the 360 and probably end up drooling over the floor.

Coming soon.
I’ll be launching another site soon to keep gadgetry things off my blog.
